What this estimate includes
The calculator provides an indicative split for civil structure, labour, finishes, electrical and plumbing, doors and windows, and painting/other works. These percentages are planning assumptions and will vary by design, material choices, contractor scope and location.
How to get a better estimate
1. Confirm built-up area
Use the area that your contractor or architect will actually price, not just plot area.
2. Get a local rate
Ask for a current ₹/sq ft quotation with a clear specification and inclusions list.
3. Compare scope
Two rates can look similar but include different materials, finishes, taxes or contractor responsibilities.
Frequently asked questions
How is construction cost calculated?
MahaMetric multiplies your built-up area by the estimated construction rate per square foot. The result is a planning estimate, not a contractor quotation.
Are the preset rates current market rates?
No. The preset rates are illustrative assumptions so the calculator is easy to test. For a meaningful estimate, replace the rate with a current local quotation for your city, specification and site conditions.
Does the result include land cost?
No. This calculator estimates construction work only. Land purchase, stamp duty, registration, finance costs, approvals and other project-specific expenses are separate unless explicitly included in your chosen rate.
Important note
This calculator is for budgeting and educational use. It is not an engineering estimate, bill of quantities, tender, professional valuation or contractor quotation. Actual cost can change materially due to city, site access, soil, structure, floor count, approvals, specifications, taxes, labour, materials and market conditions.
